Rise of Conservatism

In the article Falwell had envisioned his church for rural white Americans. He had many social services and welfare projects through the church which drew him to the Conservative side of the Republican party. He supported the Christian Right and many of the ways white Americans fought against the Civil Rights Movement. His political views changed because of his growing national reputation. He was growing my thousands of members for the church and even increased the churches revenue. Also he left the Christian right way of thinking based on what his city leaders view and also with many people in his city. The Christian right idea was the major part of defending tax cuts. Falwell believed in was an economic up lift and was trying to use those tax cuts to support the Christian way of living.
